COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The primary goal of the Advanced Placement Psychology course is to provide students an opportunity to experience rigorous course work in a high school setting. AP Psychology presents instruction in empirically supported psychological facts, research findings, terminology, associated phenomena, major figures, perspectives, and psychological experiments. Students taking the AP Psychology class are required to take the Advanced Placement Psychology exam in May.
The AP Psychology course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomenon associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. They also learn about the ethics and methods psychologists use in their science and practice.
